Deserted Island Discs: This project, created with support from the Ireland Fund of Great Britain, encouraged Irish men to talk about their lives, through the music that influenced them. They talked to DJ and producer Arveene who has produced these powerful broadcasts. Hear them here.
Cooking classes with Made in Hackney: a six week programme we delivered in conjunction with Made in Hackney, focused on nutrition, fun and delicious vegan cooking. Feedback was very positive, with the staff of Mind Yourself also very pleased to receive copies of the imaginative and easy recipes!
Innisfree Housing Association: We have launched an outreach pilot project with Innisfree Housing. Our Community Health Navigator is based at Innisfree one day a week, available to tenants for drop-ins or scheduled appointments. Working with our Group Coordinator and the staff at Innisfree, she helps people get connected with the services and activities they need to be healthy and happy.
Stable Way: Mind Yourself has been working with the Traveller community at Stable Way in a number of ways. Our Head of Services Brian regularly visits the community to give residents one-to-one information and support for accessing the health services they need. Recently we also offered cooking and nutrition classes and are fundraising for future work with younger members of the community.
Door to Door: The Door to Door project aims to explore the initial journey of migrants from Ireland to London, from door to door. We invited people across all generations who identify with this transition to contribute to our website doortodoor.org.uk
