Personal Details

My passion for mental health awareness, and ultimately my job choices stem from first hand experience of loved ones experiencing mental distress which motivated me to learn more about mental illness and to tackle the stigma surrounding it.

I am a freelance Health and Wellbeing Consultant, Quality Assurance Assessor (NCVO), Trainer, and Coach with an academic background in Health Psychology (MSc). I started out as a Research Fellow on family interventions (UCL, Mental Health Foundation), worked with children with autism as a lead behaviour therapist, and spent many years managing adult mental health services and supporting adults with severe and enduring mental health issues in the voluntary and statutory sectors. More recently, I have worked in a public health role focussing on health inequalities, behaviour change, community health and wellbeing. I currently work as an associate trainer for the national mental health charity Rethink Mental Illness and Mind.

With my interest in personal and strategic organisational development I am part of a co-production working party developing a toolbox for employers to increase wellbeing in the workplace. Members of this group include public health commissioners, Rethink, the Healthy Workplace Charter award team and people with lived experience of mental ill health.

As a freelance Health and Wellbeing professional and qualified trainer/teacher I deliver a range of mental health and suicide awareness courses, either bespoke or accredited courses, such as Adult and Youth/Schools Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses, ASIST and SafeTALK suicide prevention courses, as well as RSPH Level 1 and Level 2 healthy lifestyle courses, and some City and Guilds accredited health and safety courses.
