Lisa Harrison


Lisa joined Mind Yourself in February 2016. Originally from Nova Scotia, she moved to the UK from Canada in 2001 in search of adventure and opportunity. Her work with charities started shortly after her arrival, with a role in communications at the Design and Artists Copyright Society. Her senior charity roles have focused on income generation and have included the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, Providence Row, the National Skills Academy for Social Care and, most recently, Sitra. She is currently Chair of the board for the Big Stand.

Before her move to the UK she worked as a graphic designer and ran her own research and communication business. She currently resides in South London.

Judith Orr

Fundraising & Events officer

Fundraising and Events officer.
Judith joined Mind Yourself in August 2016. She grew up in Belfast in Northern Ireland and moved to London in 1977 to do a BSc in Psychology at University College London and has lived here ever since. She has worked in many different fields including publishing and bookselling. Her interests are politics, writing and reading.

Brian Handley

Head of Services

Brian joined Mind Yourself in August 2015 as Head of Services. Originally from Co. Clare, Brian has lived and worked in London in the mental health charity sector since 2007. He was awarded a BA in Psychology and Sociology at Trinity College, Dublin in 2006 and an MA in human resource management at Birkbeck, University of London [2015]. Besides mental health, Brian is passionate about mindfulness, social justice, organisational psychology, music, art and travel.

Ruth Melican

Community Health Navigator

Ruth joined Mind Yourself in February 2017. Ruth is originally from Dublin and has been living in London since June 2015. Having previously worked in Falls Prevention, she got a feel for helping people to improve their health through physical activity and she is keen to further promote health and well-being among Irish people in London. Ruth enjoys keeping fit – regularly runs and enjoys playing sports such as hockey and tennis.

Mary Pierce

Volunteers & Groups Coordinator

Mary is a native Londoner but her mother is from County Cork, so she spent many summers in Bantry on the beautiful south-west coast and feels a strong connection to Ireland. She joined Mind Yourself in February 2017 and has a background working in the voluntary sector running projects to support people to develop their skills and confidence through voluntary work. She also has experience in teaching ESOL working with minority groups in Tower Hamlets. In her free time she likes to paint as she originally trained as an artist.
